If you ever wanted a home in Whistler with a huge pool, three fireplaces, and a wine cellar, you now have one less option. Pique News Magazine reports that two combined properties in the Stonebridge development set an all-time price record for real estate in Whistler.
There were two parts to this sale, which led to the total price being $40 million Canadian Dollars (valued at $29,957,200 USD as of August 3rd). The first part of the purchase was the six-bedroom, ten-bathroom mansion, which sold for a price tag of C$32 million. The adjacent lot was also a part of the purchase, which sold for C$8 million.
Built back in 2014, the stunning home was sculpted by the Bohlin Cywinski Jackson architectural firm, which is known for designing 75 Apple Stores. Some of the amenities include a 25-meter (82-foot) pool, a grotto spa, a curved, floating staircase, multiple fireplaces, a wine cellar, and an elevator. The property is situated on a cliff edge and features stunning views of Alta Lake and Whistler Blackcomb.
Even if they sold just the home for C$32 million, it would have surpassed the prior record breaker. Before this sale, the prior record-holder for the most expensive home sold in Whistler was 5425 Stonebridge Place, which sold for around C$19 million. With this property off the market, the C$18.95 million chalet on 3824 Sunridge Drive is the priciest listing on the market in Whistler.
