The New England ski industry was shocked this month when John DeVivo, the General Manager of Cannon Mountain since 2007, was appointed General Manager over at Antelope Butte. After a bit of a wait, his successor, at least for the short term, has been announced.
Ski Area Management reports that Gregory Keeler has been appointed Interim General Manager at Cannon. Greg has been director of sales and marketing at Cannon Mountain since 2008. Before that, he was the marketing services manager at Attitash Mountain Resort for a decade.
John DeVivo said the following to Ski Area Management about Greg’s credentials:
“Greg has been my right-hand man for 15 years now, and he’s been a Cannon rider and Franconia Notch hiker since his college days at Plymouth State. There’s nobody who’s more bought in to what we’re looking to do here, and he’s been tapped directly into our sales, marketing, and operations efforts during the entirety of his tenure. I think he’ll do great things and lead well during the interim phase, and I’m hopeful that he’ll consider applying to take the reins over the long haul.”
The search for a permanent General Manager will begin in the coming weeks. In the meantime, Greg definitely has the qualifications to lead New Hampshire’s best ski resort.
