Paraglider takes a nap in the sky

You know those wonderful dreams you have from time to time where it feels like you’re flying? You feel weightless, floating through the clouds with not a worry in the world. The sun is shining on your face, illuminating your sleep, and everything is just perfect. That is, of course, until the reality of life greets you as you awake (it’s important not to confuse these dreams with dreams of falling, as those can be quite a bit more terrifying).

Aside from dozing off on a plane, you probably won’t really experience sleep while flying. You won’t feel the open air on your toes, and you won’t be able to enjoy the nice breeze passing under the blanket. Unless you happen to be Turkish paragliding pilot Hasan Kaval.

This should be pretty obvious, but PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME. Kaval is an experienced paragliding pilot and knows what he’s doing. You almost definitely are not an experienced paragliding pilot and almost definitely do not know what you’re doing.

When I was a little kid, I always dreamed of flying while sleeping on my bed. I’ve made another childhood dream come true. If you really want something, I think it will definitely happen.” – Hasan Kaval

Kaval has actually don’t quite a few bits like this, including a flying kebab barbecue, a flying couch, and a flying game of backgammon. Is it a bit bizarre? Of course! But what better to do as an experienced paraglider than attempting to make your entire daily life soar through the sky?

I love that he just lands it on a beach and immediately goes back to sleep, too. Try to imagine how you would react if you witnessed that in person.
