Boot Tan Fest has become a sensation for women and femme folks across the country. In fact, it’s the largest such festival in the world!

The festival is in its third year at Bluebird Backcountry, an avalanche-controlled backcountry resort that’s located near Steamboat, CO.

According to The Steamboat Pilot & Today, the festival is sold out with 400 participants joining in for this year’s festivities.

The festival features live music throughout the day, work from local artists, and culminates with a clothing-optional ski lap.

Last year’s nude lap was the subject of a short film titled ‘Full Frontal Freedom’ by Wild Barn Coffee.

Bluebird’s co-founder Jeff Woodward told the Steamboat Pilot & Today about his support for the festival:

“We love ski culture. Skiing should be fun. Skiing should be playful. Skiing should be laughing with your friends, spending a good time with them,” Woodward said.

“People do it for fun and we embrace everything about it and feel the resort experience has gotten a little too manicured and it’s stressful and there’s lines. Thematically we will embrace and support anything that drives ski culture and keeps skiing fun and keeps skiing a little goofy.”
