Hiker Describes Surviving Harrowing 200-Foot Fall (Broken Neck)

Ruth Woroniecki is still dealing with serious injuries after taking a harrowing fall on a mountain near Los Angeles, but she’s feeling grateful to be alive.

Woroniecki fell 200-feet while descending Cucamonga Peak on an icy Christmas Eve morning. A tree stopped her violent fall.

9News spoke with her about the incident in the video below:

She essentially lived every hiker’s worst nightmare.

I can’t count the amount of times that I’ve been on a trail where one little slip over the edge would certainly lead to serious injury or death.

Here’s hoping she makes a full recovery.

Stay safe out there, friends.
