16-Year-Old Snowboarder Makes History As First Woman To Land 1440° In Competition

Congratulations to 16-year-old British snowboarder Mia Brookes who wrote her name in the history books of snowboarding landing the first 1440° in competition at Bakuriani 2023 slopestyle event in Georgia.

FIS reports Brookes is no stranger to progression as she became the first woman to land a flat-spin 1260° at the Kreischberg big air World Cup in January. What makes her 1440° even more impressive is she threw it down unannounced in the middle of a slopestyle run at Bakuriani’s Didveli Resort instead of as single trick in a big air competition. Switch frontside 1440° melon stomped to absolute perfection…the bar has been raised.

Cheers to Mia. This is incredible!
