WATCH: Northern Lights Spotted From Atop Mt. Washington

Mt. Washington has been in the news quite a bit lately, partially due to the recording of the coldest windchill ever in the United States. Yesterday, Mt. Washington made the news for a spectacular reason.

The Northern Lights, which are typically only seen in high-latitude regions of our planet, were seen by the Mt. Washington Observatory.  They were visible from 1:00 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. eastern time. People also saw the Northern Lights in Maine and Vermont. The Northern Lights feature a blend of yellow, green, red, and orange colors, and it’s incredible footage.

The video from the Mount Washington Observatory is below.
