The mega-drought that’s been affecting the American west for the better part of two decades is no secret.

Reservoirs are drying up, water restrictions are being put in place, and millions across the region are wondering if living there is viable?

Believe it or not, 86% of the total water usage is attributed to crop irrigation with a large percentage of that being used to grow alfalfa.

Alfalfa is primarily used to feed cattle.
