The wait is nearly over and boy has it been a long one. After a two-year, in-person, hiatus The Great American Beer Festival returns to Denver, Colorado October 6-8. Presented by the Brewers Association, the Great American Beer Festival has become a cultural phenomenon drawing brewers and patrons from all over the world. Now, celebrating its 40th anniversary, the GABF is offering a little something for everyone in what they are calling “The Hangouts. ” There you will find a silent disco, Karaoke, a designated driver studio, food pairings and The Backyard, a spot sponsored by Yeti and featuring the Ikon Pass.

Ikon Pass to Make an Appearance at the GABF

As part of “The Hangouts” section of GABF, Ikon pass will have a large booth in conjunction with the WinterWonderGrass stage. They even have a special partnership with Colorado’s own après everything brewery, Upslope Brewing Company.

“This is the third year Ikon Pass will be present at GABF. The festival is a natural partnership for us as it takes place in Denver, where our headquarters are located, and gathers members of our Ikon Pass community who share a passion for the mountains, skiing/riding and beer. The festival also gives us an opportunity to support many of our partners, from Yeti to WinterWonderGrass and Upslope,” says Angela Maly, Field Sales Senior Manager for Alterra Mountain Company

What’s in it for Ikon Pass Holders?

Does live music and great beer sound like an après ski party in the making? It’s definitely going to be.

The Ikon Pass booth will feature a lounge area for pass holders, with seating for everyone to enjoy their drinks and listen to the bands playing there. This alone is worth the price of admission because, if you have ever been, you know seating areas can be hard to come by at the festival.

If you haven’t picked up an Ikon Pass yet, here is a great opportunity. They will be selling them throughout the festival at a discounted rate for all those who are attending. On top of that, there will be plenty of Ikon Pass swag to be had, a shotski to help you drink beers and make new friends along with  multiple other prizes for attendees to go home with. Ikon Pass holders will even have access to a fast lane that will allow them to skip the line and enter the festival faster than other attendees.

It’s like having Disney fast pass but with craft beer and better live music.

As previously mentioned, Ikon is bringing along their good friends from WinterWonderGrass. Hosted at resorts like Steamboat and Palisades Tahoe, WWG is a multi-day celebration of bluegrass and roots music and craft beer. Therefore it only makes sense that they too take part in the Great American Beer Festival. Each day’s session will feature a different WWG band including Buffalo Commons, Bonfire Dub and Rocky Mountain Grateful Dead Revue.

For 40 years, the Great American Beer Festival has been one of the premier beer festivals in the world. Now, with the addition of “The Hangouts” there is a little something for everyone. Ikon and their friends at WinterWonderGrass, Yeti and Upslope are making sure skiers and snowboarders aren’t left out. By throwing, what can only be described as, a three day après ski party they are giving the rest of the beer drinking world a glimpse of what we already know is the best part of a day on the mountain. Cheers!
