“I’d like to think I can play a VR climbing game better than average.” –Alex Honnold

Freesolo pioneer Alex Honnold straps on an Oculus rig and gives Meta Quest’s new The Climb 2 game a whirl. While VR still has a long way to go before we reach Ready Player 1 status, Alex did experience moments that simulated the real flow experience where a climber feels like they are swimming up a rock face. Would be really cool if they made a version that didn’t require hand controllers and they incorporated into climbing gyms…imagine hanging 10 feet off the ground with the sensation that you’re halfway up El Cap…make it happen Meta.
