The fall climbing season on Mt. Manaslu, Nepal has been nothing short of perilous.

The outdoors community is still grieving the loss of legendary climber/skier Hilaree Nelson who died in an avalanche last week on Manaslu.

The video below shows a huge avalanche hitting the Manaslu base camp filmed by Tashi Lakpa Sherpa (@tashi8848.86) over the weekend. He reports that the avalanche destroyed 6 camps and 30 tents.

Manaslu is the world’s 8th tallest peak.

It was reported later in the day that one Sherpa was killed by the avalanche while descending from Camp 2 to Camp 1. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends.

Please stay safe out there, friends.
