Swiss ski resort Zermatt Matterhorn took to social media, as many did across the globe, to honor the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

The resort shared a beautiful photo of the iconic Matterhorn lit up with a projection of the British flag.

Their caption read: Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has passed away today. She reigned for 70 years ascending to the throne in 1952 and was 96 when she passed. RIP #QueenElizabeth, 📸 Gabriel Perren”

*NOTE- The photo above was part of an art project in 2020 where numerous country’s flags were projected onto the Matterhorn during the raging COVID-19 pandemic.

The photos is old, but the message rings loud and clear. People across the entire globe loved and respected Queen Elizabeth II.*
