One of the best European ski websites, Planetski.eu, produced this great little video on the joys of being an Innsbruck ski builder.

“Michael Freymann, an Innsbruck ski & snowboard maker, shares his passion for his stunning hometown and talks about the advantages of living close to so many ski areas in the Tirol. Innsbruck is a unique location for skiing. The funicular only takes 20 minutes to get up to Nordkette, the ski area above the city.”

Other cities in contention for title of “World’s Greatest Ski Town” include Salt Lake City, Reno, and Geneva. However, Innsbruck (population 132,236) has a cable-car in town that will whisk you up to skiing in just 20 minutes.
