New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern was on to celebrate the kickoff to the 2022 ski season as she joined skiers and snowboarders at The Remarkables for a summit photo op.

Its a big week for the NZ ski industry as a massive dump in the past week allowed many resorts across the island nation to open up for winter operations and international tourists are returning for the first time in two years.

The return of foreign skiers and snowboarders will hopefully be a major shot the in arm to help boost mountain economies that were drastically effected by COVID-19 shutdown. Already Aussies tourists are coming in droves and the things are looking up for the Kiwi ski scene.
