Snackle Box for road trips // organizing snacks // portion controlled snacks on the go | Vintage valentine cards, Road trip organization, Road trip

A Washington state news station was running a quick story about packing tips for hikes when one of the anchors read out a genius idea submitted by a viewer.

The idea is to pack a tackle box-style container with different snacks to keep kids entertained, and fed, while you’re out on the trail or down on the river.

Check out the full clip below.

The ‘snackle box’ reference is made towards the end of the clip.

The idea has me thinking, as I tend to do from time-to-time, about what I would have wanted in my snackle box if my parents would have known about this idea back when I was a kid.

Here’s what I would hope would be in my snackle box:

  • Fruit roll-up
  • Gushers
  • Goldfish
  • Chex-Mix
  • Peanut Butter M&Ms
  • Pretzel sticks
  • Apple slices
  • Peanut butter

I mean, what kid wouldn’t love it if their mom or dad was able to whip out a tacklebox filled with all of their favorite snacks?

I was extremely food-motivated as a kid (fairly similar to a puppy in hindsight), and I bet I would have been pretty dang compliant knowing my parents had a magical box filled with my favorite treats.

What would you want in your snackle box?
