Montanaโ€™s oldest operating ski area recently welcomed Walter, a two-year-old English bulldog, and the cast and crew from the upcoming movie “Powder Pup” to film on the slopes. ย Showdown Montanaย will be heavily featured in the film and resort operators are looking forward to the exposure:

โ€œI know how special the place is, but I think itโ€™s great to get to share it with a lot of people. Theyโ€™re also featuring Showdown as part of the plot in the script.โ€ –George Gold, Showdownโ€™s digital marketing director

The movie is about around a father and son who move from Southern California to Montana, and the teenage son exchanges surfing for snowboarding (quite similar to 1993 Airborne about a surfer stranded in Cincinnati who takes up rollerblading). Unlike Airborne, this movie features a sidekick dog “with special skills in snowboarding.”

Walter the dog is actually already a bit famous on Instagram for skateboarding and snowboarding (videos below). Along with the K9 talent, the film will include 50+ people from Central Montana as extras in a fictional event called Powder Fest. Currently “Powder Pup” is scheduled to premiere in October of 2023.
