Climate change has had a negative impact on ski season for most of North America this season. This has especially been the case for the Bear Paw Ski Bowl in Havre, Montana, which hadn’t been able to open all season due to minimal snow and warm temperatures. They finally opened this past weekend due to some recent snowfall. Recently, the ski area began a rental program thanks to assistance from a neighboring unnamed ski area. They have received assistance from nearby mountains like Big Sky Resort, Teton Pass, and Showdown.
The ski area is run by the Rocky Boys Indian Reservation. The mountain features twenty-four runs and two lifts( a double chairlift and rope tow). For the rest of the season, they are open on weekends from 10:30 am to 4 pm. Lift tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for college students and kids aged 9-17, $15 for Chippewa Cree Tribal members, and $10 just to shred the rope tow. Kids who are under nine years old and seniors over eighty skis free.
