Is this the greatest downhill run of all time? I don’t know, I don’t watch a ton of alpine racing (I’m more of a Freeride fan myself), but it’s certainly a pretty wild ride. I count at least three times where Franz Klammer looks like he’s going to wipe out hard, nearly hitting the gates and hay bails on a few occasions. He had to be on the edge of soiling his pants the entire time, if he didn’t actually do it.

I’m honestly not sure what part of the video is better, Klammer’s winning run, or how hyped the announcer gets throughout the video. Either way, this is a great blast from the past (especially for someone like me, who’s much too young to have ever seen this until now…).
