Matthias Mayer was the first skier to take a training lap on the downhill course heading into the Olympics. Mayer, the German downhill Gold Medalist in 2014, struggled to find the racing line during training.

Mayer seemed to be lost on the course. The commentators were shocked how “off” Mayer was, and at one point said ‘Get the GPS out’.

This was Mayer’s first run, and he will surely get the racing line down heading into competition. Still, it’s interesting to see one of the world’s best racers struggle so blatantly with the course.
