For years, investors have aimed at building a massive ski resort and village on the land. According to the Daily Hive, the investors have a lot of clout. The two main investors are Aquilini Investment Group, which is run by the owner of the Vancouver Canucks, and Northland Properties Corporation, which owns the Dallas Stars. The resort would feature 131 runs and 21 lifts, along with 22,000 beds for residents and guests.
In my opinion, the place should stay as is. For one, there are plenty of large ski resorts in British Columbia, and more are likely on the way. From the conceptual art, the terrain doesn’t even seem that interesting or diversified. There are some cool architectural and design choices though. People in the comment sections of Luke’s Youtube video also pointed out how low the elevation is, meaning the potential ski resort could face more rain rather than snow. Photos of the potential new ski resort are below.
