“In this case, his helmet was a life saver.”
Part of Clear Creek Canyon was closed on Saturday afternoon as Evergreen Colorado’s Alpine Rescue Team and variety of other agencies combined efforts to reach a hiker injured in a rockfall. Crews closed the roadway between Highway 119 and Highway 40. It reopened at around 5 p.m. by Colorado State Patrol. The hiker was rescued but had sustained a significant injury. Alpine Rescue Team stated, “In this case, his helmet was a life saver.”  Big fans of wearing buckets while participating in dangerous activities, go get you one. Best investment ever.
