Mt. Crescent Ski Area Trail Map
Mt. Crescent Ski Area Trail Map

Did you know that there are multiple ski areas in Iowa? Crazy, right? I didn’t know that they existed until I moved to the Midwest, but there’s actually quite a bustling ski community in The Hawkeye State.

Their ski areas are small, but they’re enough for the whole family to have fun during the long and harsh winters of the Midwest.

The video below was taken by an employee at Mt. Crescent Ski Area in Honeycreek, Iowa. Doesn’t that just sound like a lovely place? Read that name and location again and tell me it doesn’t make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Good on this employee for rescuing this big buck. He might be somebody’s big prize later on this hunting season, but at least he won’t die stuck in some stupid fencing at the base of a ski area.

Mt. Crescent Ski Area Stats:

Snowmaking: 100% of terrain

# of Lifts: 2

Fun Fact: Nebraska doesn’t have any ski areas, anymore, but Mt. Crescent is only a ~30-miute drive from Omaha.
