Does anybody else have an irrational fear that a plane is going to land on them while they’re driving down the interstate? No? Just me?
A small plane had to make an emergency landing on I-12 near Pumpkin Center, Louisiana the other day, and the whole thing was captured on video.
The plane’s pilot reported losing oil pressure just 15 miles after taking off from a nearby airport. He chose I-12 as the best place to touch down, but I have to wonder why he thought it would be okay to put other’s lives in danger to save his own?
I don’t know what you’re supposed to do in this situation, but this clearly could have ended terribly for the pilot and for those in the cars driving while he landed. Thankfully, nobody was injured, but damn that could have been a real disaster if things would have gone different.
