The CycloRotor might just be the technology that defines the future of flight. The CycloRotor is a method of propulsion that is compact, stable, and can easily adjust to crosswinds and gusts. With this system, vertical take-offs and landings are possible.

The CycloRotor is based around “wings” that rotate around a central axis and hub. As the hub moves, the angle of attack of each wing is changed slightly. This creates “thrust” that can propel the object in the desired direction. Essentially, these wings revolving around a hub alter the airflow to create the power to move the flying object.

The idea behind this technology actually dates back approximately 100-years. Early aviation pioneers sought to create a vertical landing/takeoff aircraft with a very similar system. Unfortunately, the technology wasn’t quite there at the time.
