Fair warning that this video is extremely stressful and scary to watch.

Two skiers sent a cliff that caused a large backcountry avalanche and buried one of the skiers below multiple feet of snow.

Both skiers had their GoPros rolling and the video below cuts both of their perspectives into view to see how the incident happened in real-time.

The skier that wasn’t buried takes only a few seconds before he begins searching for his friend using his beacon, and his quick response is likely to have saved the buried skier’s life.

Caption translated from Spanish to English: “Impressive video of an avalanche of snow and the rescue of the skiator, seen from both points of view, the demure and the rescuer.
It is clear of the importance of being well equipped, ARVA, shovel and probe and above all not going alone ….. Impressive.”

They’re honestly extremely lucky that they were both buried in the avalanche after jumping this cliff at the same time for a cool shot, but kudos to the rescuer for having the appropriate equipment and knowing how to use it.

I need to do some breathing exercises and talk a walk to settle my heart rate down after watching that video. So glad that guy is okay, but damn was that tense to watch in real time!
