A Norwegian man trying to evade his countryโ€™s mandatory quarantine system by skiing back from Sweden got busted after getting hit by bad weather and requiring rescue. The Guardian reports the man was working on a construction project in Sweden and wanted to return to Norway to get some documents. To avoid the delay of a mandatory quarantine and cross the border undetected, the man who is in his fifties set off on skis for the 25-mile journey over difficult terrain described as “cold, wet and fairly high mountains.” 15 miles in he hit a bad patch of weather and a local reindeer herder eventually came to his aid. The man was handed off to local police who put him into a 10 day quarantine in a hotel before they will pursue any repercussions for his actions. Uff da.
