A man has tragically passed away in an avalanche on Dutch Draw, just outside the resort boundary at Park City Mountain Resort. The incident occurred on January 8, 2021.

Reports claim that the victim and his girlfriend rode the 9900 Chairlift at PCMR on the Canyons Village side of the resort. The couple exited the resort boundary and hiked to the top of Silver Peak.

It’s not clear who triggered the avalanche, but the female rider was able to avoid the slide, but her boyfriend was sadly caught and buried.

The Dutch Draw area has been in the news over the few years due to numerous avalanches. A man perished in a similar situation back in December, 2019.

Our condolences to the friends and family of the deceased.
