Those of you gearing up for opening day at Breckenridge tomorrow will no doubt be taken aback by the massive sculpture of Ullr recently installed at the base of Peak 8. Long considered the god of snow and patron saint of skiers, Ullr (pronounced Oool-er) is said to be an expert skater, skier and hunter who would glide around the world and cover the land with snow. Breckenridge has been honoring Ullr with a week long festival called Ullr Fest since 1963 and hopefully he will approve of their latest tribute with a bountiful winter. All Hail ULLR!!!
