The Vail Daily is reporting that Rod Powell, a longtime Vail local musician, has passed away from complications from coronavirus.

“Rod Powell was a legend in Vail and brought joy to so many over his tenure as Vail’s #1 Entertainer,” Shannon Tanner, his longtime friend and fellow musician said in a mass email.

Rob’s condition deteriorated quickly.  The Vail Daily reports that Rob was out skiing with friends earlier this month before visiting his doctor on Monday, March 9.

Our condolences go out to Rob’s family and friends as well as the entire Vail community during this difficult time.
