The Idaho Statesmen reports a 32 year old snowboarder died after getting struck by an SUV while trying to jump Bogus Basin Road on Saturday around 3:15 p.m.

The snowboarder identified as Shea Helmick of Meridian collided with a 2006 Hummer H2 that was traveling up the mountain near milepost 15 on Bogus Basin Road in Boise County. He was taken in an ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise but was later pronounced dead at the hospital. He was not wearing a helmet.

The driver and passenger of the Hummer H2 are reported to have been juveniles and were both reported to have been wearing their seatbelts. Bogus Basin Road was blocked by authorities for about three hours following the accident to perform a full investigation.
