This is the time of year when you need to keep an eye on steep slopes that have been in the sun for a few hours and/or above freezing temperatures for a few hours. Like this South facing slope that naturally released from around 2500 m around 5pm yesterday April 7th 200 – 300 m up the road above the Fornet cable car in Val d’Isère and came across the Col d’Isèran road (approx 1900 m) that heads up to the Pont St Charles.
