Sustainable Hospitality and Development LP, a Pittsburgh-based investment group, decided to diversify their portfolio and improve a winter offering they’ve enjoyed for years by acquiring Blue Knob All Seasons Resort for a grand total of $1,297,309.50. According to the Post-Gazette article, the new buyers are all skiers who hope to keep the character of Blue Knob intact while making necessary improvements to keep growing its skier/snowboarder base.

The area was formerly owned and operated by the Air Force before opening its slopes to skiers in 1962.

Compared to other Pennsylvania ski areas, Blue Knob holds the 2nd longest vertical drop in the state at 1,072′ with a summit elevation of 3,146′. Blue Knob is also the second highest mountain in the Quaker state.
