While NOAA waits to pull its winter storm warning from the mountains surrounding Lake Tahoe this afternoon, we thought it as good a time as any to take a look at what has been one of the biggest snowstorms to impact the Sierra in the past decade– maybe even century.

Let’s start with Mammoth Mountain. Mammoth pulled down a whopping 192″ out of the recent storm with a foot coming in the last 24 hours alone.
“A light fluffy FOOT of new snow fell in the last 24 hours. With 11-16 feet in the last 8 days, the shred is going to be great today.” – Mammoth Mountain
Tahoe resorts also got buried with resorts like Heavenly, Squaw Valley, Mt Rose, Boreal, and Sugar Bowl pulling down 7+ feet of snow in the last 7 days. Looking forward to the weekend, the majority of the Sierra is forecasted to go BLUE on Saturday with sunny skies and fresh snow through MLK Monday.
