Good news for local businesses in Estes Park, Colorado with CDOT temporarily opening Highway 34 through January 3rd. The when they opened it during Thanksgiving, some local businesses reported a 25% bump in sales. Here is the holiday schedule from CDOT’s website:

Because crews have exceeded production goals the past few weeks, CDOT and Kiewit are combining previously announced Christmas and New Year’s openings of US 34.The roadway will be open during the following time frames:- 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22 through 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3
US 34 will be open to all motorists, with or without permits. No pilot cars will be needed. Please drive safely through the construction area, and always abide by traction laws when necessary. - Beginning at 8: 30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3, US 34 will remain closed from mile points 77 – 80, with scheduled residential access.
