A couple on a rented jet ski got themselves into quite the predicament at The Wedge in Newport Beach, CA this weekend.
“Apparently, they were just kind of lost or something, he just drove straight in,” Newport Beach Marine Safety Capt. Skeeter Leeper told The Orange County Register. “They rented a jet ski and they were at the wrong place at the wrong time.”

Newport Beach lifeguards and a group of local bodysurfers (a group of Wedge experts known as the “Wedge Crew”) rushed to the scene, swiftly jumping to the rescue.
Neither the jet ski driver nor the rider were seriously injured.
“They were very lucky,” said Leeper.
