Ski mountaineering season has been full on this year in Colorado and with over 200% of its average snowpack, people are looking to ski through July.
Data from the USDA/NRCS National Water and Climate Center shows that Colorado is having one of the best springs in the last twenty years. That’s all been due to a lack of sand in the air, cold temps, and May snowfall.
Across the state, peak after peak is getting bagged and tagged including a notable descent on North Maroon Peak by Chris Davenport, Ted Mahon, John Kedrowski.

Also, Arapahoe Basin just extended their season until June 12th, which means Coloradans will only have to survive four months without lift served skiing… Poor Colorado.
