Lake Tahoe’s water levels are only two inches below the lake’s natural rim and are forecasted to rise another 12-18 inches with the spring snowmelt according to this Tahoe Daily Tribune article.

Federal Water Master, Chad Blanchard, says that the water levels are much better than the past 4 years but to expect that evaporation and ground water absorption play a role in the lake levels throughout the summer.

Because there are so many variables in play it is difficult to accurately predict lake levels but springtime precipitation could be a major factor. So lets hope for some April showers to help fill’er up so we can enjoy every inch of shoreline this summer!
