A 55 year-old snowshoer is dead after being buried by an avalanche in Kanaskis Country south of Canmore reports CBC News. The incident occurred on Monday on the north face of Tent Ridge.

The victim’s body was located in avalanche debris by an air rescue team. Once they discovered the buried body, rescue personnel pronounced the victim dead. He was not wearing a transceiver and according to a Facebook Post by the Kananaskis Country Public Safety Section, the slide “was human triggerd and started in the alpine.”
