Tragic news is coming out of Telluride that a skier is dead after faliing down Gold Hill Chute #1 on Wednesday reports 7NEWS & TheDenverChannel.com.
The man has since been identified as William Scott Elligott. The 49 year-old from Colorado Springs was skiing with his 20 year-old daughter in the Gold Hill Chutes area when the tragic incident occurred. According to his daughter, he was skiing behind her when she stopped at a cat track to wait for her father. Shortly after stopping, she witnessed him sliding down the mountain and ultimately Elligott tumbled past her without either one of his skis. According to reports, his body slid into a steep and woody area.
Once located, ski patrol were unable to detect a pulse and efforts to revive Elligott were unsuccessful.
