Anna Allen shares her personal experience from her burial in the 1982 avalanche at Alpine Meadows with The Sacramento Bee. She was buried for five days before being rescue. She suffered severe frost bite due to prolonged exposure and had both legs amputated. 7 people died in the avalanche including Anna’s boyfriend at the time.  For a comprehensive article on the tragic event to HERE.
