Have you ever launched a floaty little early season air into what looked like an amply coated mellow landing, only to screech to a halt after squarely landing a thinly covered pointy rock giving your favorite skis a core shot that they never fully recover from? Well if you haven’t, its a devastating feeling as your enthusiasm outpaced conditions and your body and your equipment pays the price. Looks like this situation summed up Chamonix looked in Decemeber, add in a some British kooks for flavor and you have the full picture. Conditions in the Alps are improving but they might want to pull out the old burn barrel and pour out a sip for Ullr.
