Growing up watching the X-Games there was a certain magic in the air knowing that you might just see something that had never been done in the history of the world on live TV. Tony Hawk’s 900 or Pastrana’s double backflip….watching these groundbreaking heroics on youtube still gives me the goosebumps to this day. But when was the last time you were truly taken back by a world’s first at an X-Games event? Might be Pastrana’s double backflip back in 2006.
Well Travis realized the platform was stagnant and needed a kick in the butt to recapture imaginations. The Nitro World Games seems like the kind of venue where if you aren’t pushing the limits of your discipline, you might as well be seated in the audience. Putting on a competition were all the ramps are built for max air and all the rounds are finals is meant to rattle the cages of all the professional FMX, Skateboarders, BMX, Rollerbladers & Scooter Riders (thats right rollerblades are back and razor scooters are in the mix).
It will all take place in one arena at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah on Saturday, July 16, 2016. If you are interested in going I suggest you buy tix now…this is going to be the hottest seat in action sports for 2016.
