It’s been dumping this morning in the Tahoe area and with over a foot in the forecast for elevations above 7,000 ft, Tahoe residents are stoked to see El Niño show his face for the first time this winter.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM PST THIS EVENING…

* TIMING: EARLY THIS MORNING INTO THIS EVENING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 1 FOOT OR MORE ABOVE 8500 FEET WITH LOCALIZED AMOUNTS AROUND 2 FEET. 4 TO 7 INCHES AROUND 7000 FEET INCLUDING ECHO AND DONNER SUMMITS. 1 TO 3 INCHES AT LAKE LEVEL.

* SNOW LEVELS: STARTING AROUND 8500 FEET THEN FALLING TO LAKE LEVEL BY MID MORNING.
