If Delta Tau Chi had to appear in court for their actions in the final scene of the National Lampoon’s Animal House, the proceedings would probably sound something like this…

Although the Sigma Alpha Mu chapter at the University of Michigan is now closed, a former member, Matthew Vlasic has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor vandalism of The Treetops Ski Resort in Gaylord, Michigan.

The incident, which involved members of the Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity in January, is ongoing and civil as well as separate vandalism cases have yet to be heard. Two other members of the fraternity, which include former president Joshua Kaplan and social chair Zachary Levin, are awaiting drug and/or alcohol consumption by minors charges, which are currently postponed until August 13.

In the meantime, the Treetops Resort is still hoping to receive compensation from fraternity members for the $230,000 in damages and another $200,000 in missed revenue according to mlive.com.
