Boreal Mountain Resort, located in the Lake Tahoe region, could open this week after the resort picked up over a foot of new snow. Cold temperatures are allow the resort to fire up their snowmaking to add even more snow to their slopes. Resort official are expected to make a decision on whether to open or not within the next day or two.
Boreal is typically one of the first ski areas to open in Tahoe. Last season the resort opened on October 26th .
