Earlier today, ski racing’s next big star, Mikaela Shiffrin, took third in a FIS World Cup Women’s Parallel event held in Moscow, Russia. The 17 year old Shiffrin is competing in her first full season on the World Cup circuit and has already won three events. After todays event, Shiffrin holds a 33 point advantage in slalom over overall leader Tina Maze of Slovenia, who finished fifth.

The FIS World Cup Alpine in Moscow is a nutty event that is held on a giant manmade ramp in the north of the city.
