Revelstoke Conditions Report January 6th | 5,620 Vertical Feet of Powder & Pillows

to “Kill the Banker” makes you happy

REVELSTOKE CONDITIONS TODAY:

– 12cms (4.5”) of new snow up top

– Solid skiing top to bottom (5,620 vertical feet of it)

– Crazy visual condition variance from top to bottom with dense/mobile fog layers at times, moderate snowfall at times, good vis at times, and even some blue holes at times

– Surface conditions = soft snow, some old lurking moguls, occasional uncovered icy patches.  The lower the angle, the better the skiing was;  the steeper stuff felt icy

– The upper mountain definitely had more snow, with the mid-mountain being a bit thinner, then the lower mountain also had more snow again (maybe even deeper than the upper mt. as it snowed down there most the day)

-Heavier snow at the bottom compared to the top, which felt like home and skied great

Bite your pillows, not the yellow ice

WHERE THE SKIING WAS BEST TODAY:

– North Bowl was good, but it was tough to see where there aren’t any trees

– Skier’s left of the Stoke Chair all the way down to the Gondola mid-station was cash $$$ (and about 5K vertical feet long)

“Uh, hey bro, which way was it again?”

CROWD FACTOR:

People definitely showed up for the Christmas break/weekend powder day

But, there still was never more than a 5 minute line (and the majority of the day had no lines at all)

– Honestly, there just aren’t enough people at Revelstoke to ski all the snow (we think Revelstoke should begin a recruiting campaign to attract more skiers to track out the snow faster…it’s sad to see some much perfect snow go unskied)

a crowded Revy/Snowy run today

OVERALL:

– It was a fantastic ski day

– 4-6” of snow covered everything and made skiing damn fun

– 5K+ foot runs all day in pow and pow-moguls keeps smiles smiling

Pillows…
