A 13-year-old boy died today in a skiing accident at Copper Mountain. Copper Mountain Ski Patrol was notified just before 1 p.m. that a boy was severely injured on the beginner trail, Vein Glory. Upon arriving at the scene Copper Mountain Ski patrol provided emergency first aid before the boy was taken to Saint Anthony’s Copper Mountain Medical Clinic.

Update: Copper Mountain officials say Tristan Bartlett, of Houston, TX, was skiing without a helmet on the beginner trail, when he struck a tree.
