Powderlicous Day At Treblecone 50cm of Fresh yeah yeah! 9th Sep, Day 34
Powderlicious just like a Chamonix Powder day and what a treat to have it in New Zealand!
Heading up to TC and scoring fantastic day shredding powder and experiencing the TC Famous Chinees Downhill,
The Saddle was closed all morning due to avalanche control. The Ski Patrol keep the cat track that leads around to the saddle closed with a rope. The rumours spread fast with chants and whispers, ‘the saddles about to open’ and by this time your already too late as the queue’s have been building with people waiting to attempt the mad rush down to the Saddle Quad Chairlifts to get first lift and first lines down Saddle Basin a Powder Mecca that has been loaded with fresh powder.
And not a lie 50 cm of it,
Blue Sky’s Fresh Powder and a good crowd made Treble Cone the place to be today.
We joined Janina And Chris some local legends in the waiting game and I got to experience this crazy experience.
People go wild, crazy, aggressive all in the name of fun to claim first lifts.
Later I hooked up with Harry Giddings from Wanaka and Ally Watson from Scotland who I met in Chamonix we shredded a few lines and cliff Drops and shared the stoke.
The sounds of all sorts were getting shouted across the mountain today scream’s of joy from powder frenzy individual’s as they charged their way down the mountain getting face shots, tumbling or laying some deep turns in.
Kezia who has been presenting and featuring in many episodes this season met Sian a local Season-air living in Wanaka the girls made their own way down the powdery mountain and looking at the grins who’s having the most fun today!
The only word to describe today is Fun. i heard a 14 year old say, ‘ Today is Just So Fun’ and true to that, today was a fun day in New Zealand and thanks Treble Cone for getting the saddle open today, yeiw!
