Jeb Corliss hit Table Mountain, South Africa, while proximity wingsuit flying at 120 mph on January 16th, 2012.
JEB’s INJURIES:
– Both ankles broken
– Three toes broken
– Left fibula bone broken
– Tore his left ACL
– Gash in his shin that required skin grafts
– Gash in his thigh that required skin grafts
“They are trying to cover up the bone so they can put a skin graft on it 🙂 All I can really say is ouch 🙂 Good thing I don’t use pain killers, lets me experience all the glorious pain :)” – Jeb Corliss on February 2nd, 2012
Jeb is very lucky to be alive as his parachute deployed just before landing and he experienced a hard crash landing. A less strong person would have given up upon impact and would have never pulled that parachute cord. Jeb is a certified badass and one highly entertaining dude. Wishin’ ya all the best Jeb. Get back up there.
“Got a pretty nasty infection, what a bummer. When they take skin from one place on your body and put it someplace else it sucks. I suggest avoiding this if you can…” – Jeb Corliss on March 12th, 2012
“Here they are doing the graft with the new skin :)” – Jeb Corliss on March 23rd, 2011
“This is what it looked like after the graft was put on :)” – Jeb Corliss on March 23rd, 2012
“This wound is taking forever to heal. This is what it looks like today. I got another infection an they had to change the antibiotics again :(“ – Jeb Corliss on April 11th, 2012
Grossed out yet? Not if you’re a nursing student or surgeon. The rest of us, yeah, probably a little.
